Have you watched the interview with Senator elect from Kentucky Rand Paul on abc’s ‘This Week’? It is a must see. Less of a glamorous interview but more what I would call insightful into the future of American Government.

What is actually at stake here with the race for Speaker of Texas House? This is a question that many voters are asking today.

Right now it seems likely that the Republicans might pick up 20 seats in the Texas House! This is amazing news for everyone but Joe Straus, who was elected last time only because of wholehearted democrat support. The big wins anticipated are going to make things very interesting for the speaker.

So when did the law righting illegal immigration start meriting legal action against itself?! I am talking about Mexico filing a law suit in one of our US Courts to try and bring down the new Arizona Immigration law.

Brian Birdwell pulled off an amazing victory in the race for who would fill the remainder of retired state senator Kip Averitt’s term. This has set off a very interesting set of events.

Tonight’s run-off elections in South Carolina brought out some great results! Nikki Haley won the GOP’s nomination which sets the tone for some interesting state politics. Nikki Haley is not your typical Republican. She is conservative first and republican second. She has bucked the country-club republican group and will do a great job as Governor!

Sharon Angle came from out of nowhere to win last night’s primary election in Nevada and will now challenge Harry Reid this November in what is surely to be one of the most closely watched races of the midterm elections. Sharon won largely due to the support of the Tea Party and the Club for Growth.

Last week Steve Munisteri was elected as the new chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. Steve has some great ideas of how to grow the party. I personally worked for Cathie Adams re-election campaign but now that the people have spoken, I am supporting Steve’s chairmanship!

We are America! You and I are America. Each of us have dreams of what our lives will be and America continues because of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives and futures for those dreams. I have thoroughly enjoyed this year’s memorial Day and taking time to reflect with family how our lives and the lives of so many others have been affected by others sacrifice.

Rand Paul the eye doctor from Bowling Green Kentucky has upset the political establishment in his state. Despite the best efforts of apparently well meaning republican leaders in Washington he is the winner of the republican primary and will now face Jack Conway the states Attorney General who was narrowly nominated by the democrats.

Before I dig myself into a hole please know that I actually enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity. But I think it’s important for us to consider how effectual these actions are. The positive aspect of listening to these conservative talk show hosts is that you will be one of the few informed voters of America. But when you take a step back and look at the big picture what are you accomplishing?

Its official “Republican” Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives Joe Straus is hosting a fundraising reception for Democrat Patrick Rose! This isn’t surprising to me but it should be another warning to Republican’s around Texas that we have leaders who will do anything for political power. Joe Straus is willing to compromise at any cost and we need to replace him as soon as possible.

Many of you may have heard that Dr. James Dobson recently endorsed former US Senator Dan Coats who is running for his old Senate seat once again in Indiana. The recent battle of endorsements has caused a sardine like feeling to this race. All of the top three candidates in the race have received coveted endorsements from high profile figures. My concern with Dr. Dobson’s endorsement is that it is narrow in its scope.

With less than a month left in the primary battle for the GOP nominee to US Senate in KY, Rand Paul is leading the charge to the finish line. He has covered the state with his campaign tour and has capably fielded the onslaught of attacks from his opponent Trey Grayson

I was very disappointed that I wasn’t able to attend a local Tea Party on April 15^th. Unfortunately I had to head up to Austin for work right after paying my taxes. This year the government took 20% of my income! This was quite a bit considering the last few bills I have for my college tuition must get paid within the next few months.

No matter how hard I try I cannot express the importance of getting Rick Green elected to the Texas Supreme Court.
