Last night Senate Democrats voted to remove the public option from the senate’s version of the health care bill! Though this is good news for conservatives I cannot sit here and claim victory, it is with a heavy heart that I think of how, by a vote of 54-45, the senate killed an amendment to defund abortions in this new health care plan.
I sit here today not feeling a sense of victory or accomplishment. Resolved and determined better describe my feelings after last night’s vote. With this vote our countries leaders have decided that it is acceptable to disregard the cries of the innocent unborn children all across America. They have taken a stance against the most vulnerable among us. They have stripped what we thought were unalienable rights and moved our country towards moral degeneration. I don’t mean to seem depressed or as though I have given up.
This bill has given the pro-life movement even more reason to fight, more reason to give of our time, treasure, and talents. Today I feel as though I have even more passion to stand up against the seemingly indestructible powers of the left. This is the time for conservatives to stand up across the globe and make a stand. If you don't stand for something you’ll fall for everything!
For years we have stood as a voice for the voiceless, let us not be discouraged, the passing of this bill should not hinder our stance, it should be a reminder that the powers against do not sleep, they don’t stand on the sidelines, they are strong and ready for battle. Let us not lose heart; it’s time to prepare for war, to join the ranks on the frontline, and to fight for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. If you haven’t been active in the past I plead with you to join the team, the battle for truth has only begun and victory belongs to the Lord. Proverbs 21:31 says it best, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord”
