Gays Have Rights PDF Print E-mail

It is conceited and appalling for the Homosexual minority to compare themselves to the African American’s plight for civil rights. This is a slap in the face to a minority who has fought for equality in America. What the homosexuals don’t realize is that they have the rights that the African American community fought for. For them to equate not being able to sit on a bus or drink from a water fountain to not being able to redefine an institution that is set up to encourage and build up the American family is atrocious. We need to take a close look at what the gay rights movement is actually asking for.

There is a principle of marriage that is and has been an integral part of American society, and is a vital part of our success. Marriage is based off of a procreation principal that encourages the traditional family which we know is the best possible environment for children. We need to provide the gay minority with the civil rights that we as Americans have and yet protect the institution of marriage that has brought our country this far.

Let’s look at the rights that gay’s have. They can get a job, go into a public bathroom, drink from whatever water fountain they want, sit on whatever bench they want, ride in a bus, go to the theater, start a business, and own a gun. These are rights that we all have and aren’t things that should be taken away.
To compare or associate these rights with the attempt to completely redefine the institution of the family, a unit which we believe to be the best possible situation in which to raise the children of America, is both shockingly insulting and alarmingly sinister in the scope of its own delusion.
